T.S. Eliot's "Journey of the Magi"

January 6th is Epiphany, the day we remember the Wisemen's coming to worship the child Jesus. One of my favorite poems of this season is Eliot's "Journey of the Magi" in which the voice of the poet is that of one of the Magi as he recalls the journey taken to Bethlehem.

I thought I would share the poem with you all, a small token of Epiphany. When I went to google the words, I found something even better: a recording of Eliot himself reading the poem!

May your journeys in the coming year bring you closer to the One who came to bring us more abundant life.

Hi, Rebecca! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and commenting. I viewed your profile, saw your favorite books, and immediately added your blog to my Google reader in the "Soulmates" category. I thought I might be jumping the gun, and then I saw that you also love "Journey of the Magi"! I love this poem. I first became acquainted with it when I was wrote a paper on it for my Honors English class in high school. It's a difficult poem, one of those that shed new insights each time I study it.

Thanks again for visiting. I look forward to reading more of your blog!
