Nimrod 2008 Making Tracks: Escape or Journey

We are the latecomers.
We are the ones who stand
at the back of of the conference room,
then slump to the floor
to sit with our legs crossed
and our minds open,
to listen as the panelists,
one by one, before the microphone
muse on whether writing
is escape or journey.

We got lost en route,
but now we have arrived.
