A little update
It was supposed to rain today, but there is nary a cloud in the sky. The spring semester is just flying! Still I would wish we were halfway through next week. Good Friday begins Spring Break, and Katie and I are off to Tennessee.
I will spend Easter weekend with her family in the Nashville area, then drive down Alabama to spend the week with Jennie Chancey, my long-time mentor and co-conspiritor in old-fashioned women's clothing design.

Jennie and I have known each other over seven years, but this will be our first time to meet in person! Jennie is married to Matt and mother of seven children with one on the way. I told her to be prepared to put me to work around the house. Children are not something I see a lot of here at college, and I am looking foward to being with some little people (and not a few)!
Of course, my professors have all conspired to keep me busy with homework. I will be reading Tess of the D'urbervilles and completing a lengthy study guide on it. I will be endeavoring understand Walt Whitman's philosophy by reading his Preface to Leaves of Grass and reams of criticism. In April, I must moderate one of our class discussions on Whitman. Why did I choose such an author?? Why not Hawthorne or Dickinson?
Before I get overwhelmed, I'm going to get some lunch and a bit of fresh air.
