Dying Daily

Jennifer over at Et Tu? is not accepting comments on her blog posts during Lent. I appreciate the sacrifice she is making. But her posts are so thought-provoking, it is impossible to come away from them without feeling an overwhelming need to respond. Having just read her post "Cat vomit, temper tantrums, and dying to self," I am reminded of the reason Christ calls us to die to ourselves, and while the reason is indisputably a noble one, the place of sacrifice is in mundane day-to-day moments. There is no fanfare for the martyr. I am thankful that Jennifer recognizes the significance our responses in such moments and shares her experiences so candidly. In holding up a mirror to her own life, she, in effect, holds one up to mine. Et tu?
