We are sorry, Gwen and I, to be missing classes tomorrow. It really can't be helped, though. Gwen had to come to Oklahoma for her brother's wedding, and I couldn't very well turn down a chance to come home. Now we're stuck. The roads are icy and the temperature is hovering below freezing. Icicles drip from the eves. If it warms up tomorrow, we may venture out. It has been a quiet day on Saddle Lane. We lit candles when the power went out and I pulled out Tennyson's Idylls of the King to do reading for my Victorian Lit class. Finally, when the power returned, we put on the All Creatures Great and Small; I was back in Yorkshire again! We tested the Christmas lights, Mum strung them on the tree, and Gwen, Amy and I hung the ornaments.

Oh, satisfy us early with Thy mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all of our days. And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us; and establish Thou the work of our hands.
